One Man's Trash, Part 2

Or nesting part...ten? Who knows, nesting is all I'm doing around here these days.

But guys. Guys. I finished the porch swing.

And it's beautiful. I'm not biased by pride or anything.

I'll include some "Before" and "During" pictures to aid in the suspense of the unveiling.

Isn't it pretty? I almost can't believe I did it by myself. It took a lot of elbow grease to get it up to speed, but it was totally worth it. Not too bad for a first attempt at wood working. I've been making up for lost time by spending as much time on the porch as I possibly can. Winter's coming fast, I have to give this thing some milage.

One project down...lots more to go.

  2. It's utterly gorgeous! And it comes with the bonus story of how you found it and laboured for hours to bring it back to life.

On a side note: the brickwork on your house is lovely.

    1. Thanks and thanks :) I definitely like everything I own to have a story behind it, so this was one way of doing it. And I love our brick house. I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but they even did a pattern where every so often a brick peeks out all crooked from the wall. My future father-in-law didn't really care for the technique, but I think it's quirky and awesome.
